FAQ's:

This section is currently under re-construction. . . Please check back frequently for updates! THANKS!

Q: Since GSP's are a sporting breed, I can get a fully trained hunting
dog through GSP Rescue, right?

A: This is generally not true.

Q: I want a GSP but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on one. Since these are rescue dogs that no one else wants, I heard I can get one for free from you. Is this true?

A: Not really. While our adoption fees are pretty reasonable, please remember that. . .

Q: I already have a male GSP, and now I want to get a female from GSP Rescue of ID so I can breed them together and raise some puppies.

A: Sorry, but that won't happen. . . all rescue dogs are spayed/neutered prior to placement to prevent exactly this from happening. . .

Q: Will a rescued GSP be ok with my other pets?

A: GSP's are generally good with other dogs. Cats, birds, rabbits, and other small animals can be problematic, as most GSP's see these critters as "prey" animals to be chased and caught. . .

Q: Which sex of GSP makes a better pet?

A: Which gender of child makes a better child? :>)

Q: I have a GSP that's bitten ___________ (the mailman, a friend, my child, fill in the blank). I need to get rid of him/her. Can you help?

A: GSP Rescue of ID will not knowingly accept the surrender of aggressive dogs--especially KNOWN BITERS. . . nor will they knowingly place such an animal in an adoptive or foster home. . .
